"Home of the Brave" is my favorite album to date. Getting to work with Adam Cardone was a positive experience. He wrote the music, and made  the arrangements. Our drummer Magal brought to this a very heavy feeling and had many good suggestions. Dave Weston played guitar very effortlessly and shreddingly. It's been 13 years since our last record, and many of the lyrics I'd  been carrying around in my black note books finally became... "Hungry For Trash".."Ghosthole"....to name a few. Adam wrote the lyrics for "Somewhere" and we had fun switching vocals on that one. The lyrics for " Home of The Brave"  were  written when I was doing a residency at the 66th st. Park Ave  Armory in New York City last year. It's been a great life to be able to be an artist and in a band for so many years. We put a paypal "Pay as you Please" [at the top it says "Tip The Artist"] button option here as well.

We made this album ourselves with the help of many friends, and all contributions will be used to fund the cause and make other TVHKB things for ya!

A big thank you to all who have supported us over the years.

-KEMBRA PFAHLER

The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black was formed in 1990 in New York City by Kembra Pfahler and Samoa. Home of the Brave is the band's first new album in thirteen years and is their heaviest album to date.

TVHKB is known for their theatrical presentation and costuming, and toured the U.S. extensively in the 90's. They have been compared to by Spin magazine to performance legends like The Plasmatics and Alice Cooper. Their music comes out of meat and potatoes rock and roll, but with this new album, they've reached beyond their initial punk rock leanings to a more ferocious metal sound. Music by Adam Cardone (bass player for the internationally know band "Toilet Boys") and lyrics by Kembra Pfahler.
